With a personal checking account, you'll be able to track your spending, pay bills and have your paychecks deposited right into your account. Monitor your account 24/7 and experience peace of mind knowing your funds are protected.

To open an account with us in person or online, you'll need to provide some key details:

  • Your personal and contact information
  • Your U.S. address
  • Your social security number or employer identification number

You'll also need to be 18 years old with a government-issued ID.

When opening an account online, simply choose the type of customer you are — existing or new — and the type of account, and you'll be good to go.

When you open one of our personal checking accounts, you can choose our standard Courtesy Overdraft Program or one of our other options. We can help you determine which option is best for you depending on your needs.

Minimum opening deposit for personal checking account is $50. A $40 fee will be charged when account is closed within 180 days after opening. *1) Our ATM fee is waived when using Non-Midland owned ATMs with unlimited fee reimbursement for Liv unlimited accounts. Non-Midland ATM fees still apply. Foreign ATM fees by ATM owners other than Midland States Bank will be charged as the fee occurs. 2) Minimum daily balance to earn interest is $0.01. Accrual of non-cash deposits - interest begins to accrue no later than the business day we receive credit for the deposit of non-cash items (for example, checks). Your interest rate and annual percentage yield may change at any time. 3) Insurance products are: Not a Deposit. Not FDIC-Insured. Not insured by any federal government agency. Not guaranteed by the Bank. Personal Identity Protection and Cell Phone Protection are subject to additional terms and conditions.
